The Ohio House has passed HB 99 that proposes the statewide ban of texting while driving.

The Ohio House has passed HB 99 that proposes the statewide ban of texting while driving.  AAA has taken the initiative to organize a rally to draw attention to the fact that the ball is now in the Ohio Senate’s court. Joint sponsor of HB 99, Rep. Rex Damschroder is the official sponsor of the rally. The rally will be on the south lawn of the Statehouse at noon on Thursday, Sept. 22nd, the week the General Assembly reconvenes after summer recess. The noon start time intends to catch downtown workers out on their lunch hours & allow TV news to air the rally live on their noon shows.

According to the organizers, opinion polls have been showing that the majority of Ohioans want texting, and even phoning, while driving restricted by law.   Please share this notice with anyone & everyone you think might be able to come and/or to spread the word further. In addition please consider a follow-up letter to the editor of your local newspapers.
